Byron Bay spanish for Paradise!

Friday night takes us on yet another bus ride into Byron Bay it's about 3 hours and we are all eager to get into town eat and drink. My head cold has gotten a little better with some proper drugs from the pharmacy...called the Chemist here, haha.  Everyone in the group has become a bit closer and I think more comfortable with each other and their humor, attitude and personality in general.  We all get cleaned up quickly and meet up to hit our welcoming bar called the Cheeky Monkey.  Cheep food and drinks was welcomed but this place was odd to say the least.  I've leard that Aussies are a bit behind in their music, movies and general curltural maturity.  They seem to love all the 80's and 90's hits that were never popular...its kinda crazy and hard to explain.  I guees the only way to half way do so is by saying... I saw an advertisement on the TV for a group concert with the headliners being "Flo Rida", "Naughty By Nature", and some other bands that I couldn't really foccus on because I was so blown away by the first two.  And this was big news and a big deal of a concert.  Needless to say in the bar the music mix was even more questionable.  Its all good though because everyone is just happy in general...to be out of camp so to speak and cutting loose in a bar.

The next day was mixed weather but eventualy cleared up and was sunny...so still no swell and we were all getting a bit agitated, however this place was so beautiful it was easy to calm down and enjoy the beach as well as some of the hikes available....like to the lighthouse.  Also some more kayaking out past the point or head to see some schools of dolphins.  The last couple pics are my own attempt at and Endless Summer.  This place is special indeed.
